The following are Lórien's Book Feature Characters, Galadhrim from Tolkien's books who are played on Elendor from time to time:

Galadriel | Celeborn | Guards | Amdir (deceased) | Amroth (lost) | Nimrodel (lost)

Galadriel

Perhaps the greatest elven-woman who ever lived — indeed, the greatest Noldo ever, except perhaps for Fëanor — Galadriel was born in Valinor to Finarfin and Eärwen, and is the younger sister of Finrod, Orodreth, Angrod, and Aegnor. Though considered a Noldo, she has a combination of Noldorin, Telerin, and Vanyarin blood.

Athletic and masculine in her youth, she was (despite her strong distaste for Feanor) one of the leaders of the Noldorin exodus from Valinor. Strong, proud, and willful, she left Valinor with dreams of dominion and of ruling her own realm. Upon reaching Beleriand, she dwelt in Doriath for her love of Celeborn. After the destruction of Beleriand she lived with him in Lindon and later Eregion. Though she visited Lórinand (now called Lórien) throughout the Second and Third Age, she did not settle there or take charge of its government until Amroth's departure in TA 1981. She and her husband Celeborn have a daughter, Celebrían, who wedded Elrond but later sailed West after being tormented by orcs.

Galadriel is the planter of Lórien's mallorn trees, and unbeknownst to all save Elrond, Círdan, and Gandalf, she is also the bearer of Nenya, the Ring of Water (or of Adamant), one of the Three, the secret to both Lórien's power as a stronghold against evil and its uncanny changelessness. Wise and powerful, with the ability even to read the minds of others, she names herself only a guardian of Lorien, its Lady rather than its Queen.

Celeborn

Celeborn, son of Galadhon, is a Sindarin prince of Doriath and the great-nephew of Thingol; it was also in Doriath that he met, fell in love with, and married Galadriel. After the destruction of Beleriand, he lived in Lindon for a time with Galadriel, ruling the mostly-Sindarin region of Harlindon as a fief before the founding of Eregion. Celeborn and Galadriel then lived in Eregion for a time, but did not permanently settle in Lórinand (now called Lórien) or take charge of its government until Amroth's departure in the year 1981 of the Third Age. He and Galadriel have a daughter, Celebrían, who wedded Elrond but later sailed West after being tormented by orcs.

Celeborn names himself only a guardian of Lórien, its Lord rather than its King. Despite being called "the Wise", he is known for subscribing much more closely to elven prejudices than does his wife. It is no doubt the slaying of Thingol by dwarves and the dwarves' sack of Doriath (along with their stirring of evil in Moria) that has so strongly biased Celeborn against their kind, though Galadriel, a Noldo, has a greater affinity for them.

Guards

Haldir

Like his brothers Rúmil and Orophin, Marchwarden Haldir is a Silvan elf of House Dinlom. An anomaly among his reclusive Great House, Haldir not only speaks fluent Westron but also ventures abroad at times to gather news and spy on Lorien's enemies. He is most often found standing guard upon the hidden flets at Lorien's borders, though in the past he has also served as Dinlom's Steward.

Rúmil and Orophin

Far more traditional than their brother Haldir, Marchwardens Rúmil and Orophin speak little Westron and rarely ever leave Lórien, preferring to avoid interacting with outsiders. Strong and stalwart, their watch upon Lórien's borders is tireless.

Amdir

A Sindarin prince from Beleriand, Amdir, father of Amroth, arrived in Lórinand (now called Lórien) and became its first King sometime during the first thousand years of the Second Age. Under his rule, Lórinand had many years of peace and obscurity. He obeyed Gil-galad's summons and mustered an army of his Silvan people to join Gil-galad's forces at the Last Alliance, though in the Battle of Dagorlad in the year 3434 of the Second Age both Amdir and more than half of this following were driven into the Dead Marshes and slain. He is also known as Malgalad.

Amroth

A Sindarin prince, son of Amdir, it is probable that Amroth was born in Beleriand and arrived in Lórinand (now called Lórien) with his father sometime during the first thousand years of the Second Age. After Amdir's death in the Battle of Dagorlad, Amroth became Lórinand's second and final King.

Beautiful, valiant, and wise, Amroth adopted many Silvan customs out of his longstanding love for Nimrodel, a Silvan maiden, who loved but would not marry him. For her he learned the Silvan tongue (called "Bethteur" on Elendor) and became the first Sinda ever to dwell in a talan, which was built for him above the hill of Cerin Amroth. When evil was awakened in Moria and Nimrodel fled south from Lórinand, Amroth followed her; they plighted their troth, but Nimrodel would not marry Amroth save in a land of peace. For her sake, he vowed to leave his people in their time of need and sail West with her.

On their journey south to the elven havens that then existed in Belfalas, Amroth and Nimrodel became separated. He arrived and waited on a ship for her, though the ship was blown out to sea in a storm. In great dismay he jumped overboard to swim back to shore. After that, he was never seen nor heard from again.

Nimrodel

A Silvan maiden native to Lórinand (now called Lórien), Nimrodel fell in love with the Sinda Amroth despite her regret for the arrival of the Beleriandic elves in the Wood and the "Sindarizing" of the Galadhrim. Indeed, she seems to have expected Amroth to "Silvanize" himself for her, as she spoke only the Silvan tongue ("Bethteur") even after it had fallen out of use. She lived alone in a talan near the falls of the stream Nimrodel, which was named after herself, and it is for her that Amroth became the first Sinda to adopt the Silvan custom of talan dwelling and built the talan above Cerin Amroth.

When evil was awakened in Moria, Nimrodel fled south with many other Silvan Galadhrim. She and Amroth plighted their troth near the eaves of Fangorn, but she would not marry him save in a land of peace. They became separated during their journey south to the elven havens that then existed in Belfalas, and Nimrodel was lost in the White Mountains. No more is known of what happened to her, though there are many legends as to what her fate may have been.
