House Aderthad

Restrictions: Sindar only.

Visual Distinction: Blue and silver are the colors of the house, representing the sea and the stars, two things held dear by the Sindar. Clothing and possessions of house members are often adorned with the house symbol of the Nightingale.

House Heads (Indyr):
Indor: Sidhgalad, Marchwarden, Maethyr o Lothlorien
Dark haired with green eyes, he has the build and bearing of a warrior. Fair but stern, he is well noted for listening to all aspects of an issue before forming a decision. Once decided, he stubbornly holds to his decision.
Indiri: Iaurdiriel, Counsel, Arnpand o Lothlorien
Strawberry blond hair, with deep blue eyes, she appears a delicate flower. Looks can be deceiving, for this flower has thorns. With a witty tongue and a fierce loyalty to the land, she is a figure who can easily challenge an opponent with both words and a bow.

General Worldview: Aderthad is the most militaristic of the four houses. They are the first to call for any type of action against yrch (orcs) or other such dangers when the safety of the Golden Wood is threatened. They also hold a somewhat friendly rivalry with the Laiquendi, for these two houses sit on opposite sides of the political spectrum.

General Foreign Policy: Elf and Elf-friend visitors are always welcome, for they feel that all good creatures should have a joyful life. All other visitors are treated as clear and present dangers. Further, they are reluctant travelers themselves, preferring instead for those seeking counsel to themselves journey to this blessed realm.

Average Member: While the House has a strong military presence — about half of its entire number being members of the Galadhrim guard — service in the Order is by no means a requirement for being a member or attaining distinction within the house. Indeed, throughout its history, members have prided themselves on working towards a balance in spiritual and martial skills, as well as being active in the politics of the Wood. Therefore, the balance of the House members are more or less equally divided among members of the bards, crafters, and royal court. Members of House Aderthad feel a great joy for all life, and hold it high in value, which is why healers are also quite welcomed.

House Talan: Silver Roadway (north) within Caras Galadhon.
