Poetry, songs, and tales form an important part of roleplaying in Imladris. This includes not only the poems and stories of J.R.R. Tolkien, but pieces written by players for the MUSH. Imladris has several fine poets, some of whose work can be read online.

If you want to write your own poetry or stories, and have your character present them, ask an LA to set you up with an instrument you can use to enter your compositions for playback during roleplay.

Poetry written for Imladris should reflect Tolkien themes, and be consistent with an Elven viewpoint. It is usually formal, rhymed or alliterative poetry rather than free verse. Read the Lord of the Rings for examples.
