TITLE:
Arphedil Nos Ruiganno (Retainer of House Ruiganno) ... Sweet Child of Imladris ... and Official Goldilocks. Let Bears Beware!

DESCRIPTION:
He is as noble and fair in face as an elf-lord, as strong as a warrior, as wise as a wizard, as venerable as a king of dwarves, and as kind as summer - though how much of this you could tell from his face would be difficult to say. Let it suffice to tell that he looks at once youthful and mature, lithe and strong, powerful and gentle. . .all of these things he seems, and more.

He is fair of face, with long dark tresses bound back from his brow by a single silver circlet. Grey are his eyes, fringed with fine dark lashes, evenly set above an aristocratic nose and even mouth. Tall he seems, though perhaps not so tall as many in this house. This, then, is the Lord of Imladris.

PERSONA:
Sorrow has she seemed ever since Gondolin, when, it is told, the parvasson Lossmeril fled to the library in an effort to rescue what books she could - a not entirely vain act, but a costly one, for her spirit has not seemed the same since that night to those who knew her. Since then, the gentle librarian has turned her talents elsewhere, back to the healing arts and falconry she once studied, and to cooking as well, passing her time in the infirmary, wood, or kitchen at least as often as the library.

Lossmeril's past is known to be a tragic one. While she awakened at Cuivienen and enjoyed a happy life with a husband and two children, her family chose to follow Fingolfin, and both husband and children perished in the bitter crossing of the Helcaraxe. During that dark journey, before meeting his death, her husband began to call her Losselote (Q., 'Snow-Flower'), the Quenya equivalent of Lossmeril (S., 'Snow-Rose'), and she has answered to no other name than one or the other since - save perhaps for her friend Tindara.

Lossmeril has been a part of Imladris since its founding, when she came with others of Elrond's folk, including her old friend Tindara, Hiril nos Tulcarilma, to settle in the valley. Since its beginnings, she has lived nowhere else. Despite her loss, she indicates no interest in sailing West, only in the day-to-day practicalities of life in Imladris, which seem to soothe her more than any balm. Though gentle of spirit, she can be forceful at need, often without hesitation. She serves Nos Tulcarilma as Saelvadhor, counsellor to her longtime companion, and as such bears the gravity of her office. Yet she can at times be as merry as she is sorrowful, as lively as she can be lifeless. Mercurial of mood, she is a kind healer and falconer, a delightful cook, and yet a bibliophilic librarian at heart.

(OOC: If you have reason to know Lossmeril in more detail, such as a character born before the First Age, please contact Lossmeril for further details.)

HISTORY:
Awe-filled grey eyes opened to look upon the stars at Cuivienen when Milyalohte (Q., 'Gentle Blossom') awoke at Cuivienen. She swiftly proved a gentle soul, swift to make friends, though she was truly close to only a few. Among these was Tindara (Q., 'Silver Dawn'), whose company Milyalohte enjoyed greatly.

When Finwe returned with news of what he had seen in the lands of the Valar, Milyalohte was among those eager to go. Much as she loved the place where she lived, the promise of such wonders excited her, and her faith and trust were strong enough to undertake the journey. So it was that she set out, never falling behind, arriving at last at their destination. There she grew in grace and knowledge, studying healing with Este the gentle and falconry with others. Her friendship with Tindara continued, and she became companions with an elleth named Oremir as well, who shared her interest in falconry. (continued in +display lossmeril/history2)

NOTE: For information on my former characters (Aislin/Aldis, Rigada, Bronaduial, Narien, Mallenfaigliel, Parvaneh, as well as BFCs Bilbo and Erestor and OFC Lossmeril), please page. :) My website is presently down. . .I'm working on getting things rolling again, but that may take a while.
OOCDESC: Ummmm. . .why do you want to know? Sorry, stop drooling if you were imagining I look like my Aislin desc from back then. I don't, really. . .but I *do* have blonde hair, blue-green eyes, fair skin (I'm a 45+ SPF sunblock kind of gal!). Photo of sorts may still be up in the appropriate section of http://shire.elendor.net; I was a Shirefolk hobbit from March 2000 - January 2005, including Frodo, Pippin, and Pervinca as well as original characters Rue Headstrong, Carnation Goodenough, and Rotho Baggins.

PERSONAL: Married. . .Tolkien addict since preschool. . . . Book or movie fan? Both, and yes, I even like the Rankin-Bass and Bakshi stuff - sometimes I shudder at it, yes, but I have a fondness for it given that that's all there WAS when I was a kid. Obviously nothing tops the "real thing" - the books - but I have an appreciation and love for the movies, and enjoy working with players whose perceptions are based on them who are learning Elendor as a new book-based world. Favourite characters played: Aislin/Aldis (Yfelwydan Human); Rigada (Beorning); Abira (Mordain Human Agent); Erestor (Imladhrim); Bilbo Baggins (Imladhrim); Frodo Baggins (Shirefolk); Rue Headstrong (Shirefolk); Carnation Goodenough (Shirefolk); Mallenfaigliel (Imladhrim); Halldora (Beorning). What else do you want to know? Page or +mail if there's something else you want to see here. . . .

LiveJournal: http://www.livejournal.com/users/elendorfrodo (Yes, I was playing Frodo at the time I set this up. . . .) Feel free to friend at will.

PLAN: Enjoying retirement from administrative life (two-time Shirefolk +ruler, long-time LA, etc.) and return to a taste of it (Shirefolk LA, Imlad +greeter/helper, etc.). Writing full-time. When I say life is GOOD I don't mean that offline life is peachy. There's a lot going on that's generally pretty crushing. For a more in-depth understanding of what I mean about managing my offline life, I strongly recommend http://www.butyoudontlooksick.com/spoons.htm - it gives an excellent portrayal of the issues involved.
