TITLE:
Linnor a Nethordur (Singer and Apprentice Healer)
DESCRIPTION:
*Long nut brown hair glints occasionally with deep red and gold when it catches the light. It flows down her back to her waist, whispering softly with any movement, almost like leaves in a summer breeze. Stray tendrils drift around a face, which for the most part has soft, regular features. Her bright, almond-shaped eyes however, are large and of a deep, sparkling emerald colour. She is of medium height for one of her kind, with a slender build and she moves with a calm, dreamy grace.
She is clad in a long, softly-flowing, deep green sleeveless gown, bound at the waist by a silver girdle of twisting leaves and a cloak of the same green is draped loosely about her shoulders.
Her voice is soft and warm with a gentle musical quality that seems to contradict her youthful appearance with its calm, soothing tone.*
PERSONA:
A quiet and often shy elleth, Liriel is quite often given to "day dreaming" or seeming so in her contemplation of the world around her. Around those she does not know she still seems a caring, warm individual, but often quiet and withdrawn from the conversation. Among those she knows however, her love of laughter and even a sense of mischief shines through. Often she is happiest in the outdoors amongst the trees and will sit and sing to them for hours on end. As her father, a singer like her, she does perform in public, seeming lost though and unaware of those around her as she sings. For the most part she is gentle and almost frightened of conflict of any kind, however when something particularly takes her, a rather stubborn streak is quiet visible. From her father she inherits her calm, gentle manner and tone of voice, in speech as well as song. Her voice is soft and warm with a musical quality that seems to contradict her youthful appearance with its calm, soothing tone.
HISTORY:
Born in the year 2497 to Lireden of Imladris and Elinalwen of Caras Galadhon. Liriel grew up in Imladris a carefree child. She was often given to wandering around the valley in somewhat of a dreamlike state, always happiest outside amongst nature. She particularly loved to climb trees and sit and "daydream" in the branches listening to nature talking to her (much to the annoyance of her parents who often had to come and find her!). With her father, a singer of amazing skill, and her mother, a harpist, it was often thought that Liriel too would become a musician. Indeed she loved and still loves both to sing and play the harp and often on her walks she will sing to nature around her in the rich, smooth voice she inherited from her father. However, about 50 years ago a dear friend of hers whilst out with a travelling party was gravely wounded by Orcs and died not long after. Although she was not with the party, Liriel, when she heard of this was devastated, but she realised that even if she had been with the party she would not have been able to do anything. After a few years of even more frequent wandering outdoors in her "contemplative" state, Liriel came home and announced that she would like to learn the art of healing. Her father and mother, understanding this, quite happily agreed, but as they were soon to leave and return to her mother's home of Caras Galadhon, they thought she would come with them and learn there. But Liriel, not yet ready to leave Imladris, decided to stay behind even though it pains her to be away from her family.
