Lhindidhren

TITLE:
Arphedil Nos Forodren, Tellenistril, Gwaerhiril a Nethordur (Retainer of House Forodren, Tracker, Falconer and Apprentice Healer)

DESCRIPTION:
Long of limb and slender of form, there is little that physically sets this Sinda apart from her kin. Her skin is pale, touched by a bloom of health at her cheeks and made radiant by the spark of life in the depths of luminescent brown eyes. Elegant, lean, her features bear the edges of time with a telling grace, crowned by a dusky mass of fine hair. Easing more to an antiqued, burnished brown than true gold, the shimmering locks have been gathered up into an intricate weave that binds just over her hairline and back around her head like a crown. It reveals plainly the subtle point of her ears, and bears no other accessory but the plain pins that keep it tightly woven in place. She has no scars, no lines to speak of her age.

Her clothing is decidedly simple, spun fine and suited for travel or wear. A tunic of green material, solid and woven for warmth falls to her knees and is cinched in place by a braided leather belt. The embroidery along collar and hem is of a darker green, whorls and edging of a subtle design. Beneath this, she wears a fitted semi-chemise of grey, with its high neck clasped by unadorned fastenings and the sleeves kept tight by green braided ribbon. Her breeches are brown, loose along her thigh until they tuck into boots that cling to her calves for ease of walking and soled for the same. At her hip several pouches of varying size and shape hang. Upon the index finger of her right hand, she wears a woven silver ring adorned by a polished bit of green agate. It's not overly flashy and instead carries an understated elegance, especially as the only piece of jewelry she wears.

PERSONA:
Lhindidhren is known for quiet contemplation over reckless reaction. All she does is thought out, controlled where it can be, and applied. She is supremely dedicated, often given to working out a thing before moving on to the next. Despite this apparent kind of quiet, she is also known for a constant kind of activity. Rarely are her fingers left unbusy, either by simple work such a sewing, or by a household task or forgotten chore. When given a task, she is consistent and thorough, and will do her best to see the end of it.

A tracker of at least some skill, she often spends time out in the wood, seeking who knows what in the silence. While she has always been quiet, she seems to have developed a taste for solitude since her husband, Drafnuinfael, sailed to the West. When pressed, she is ever reassuring, although she's also given to a bit of a stern streak when her careful organization is mussed about. This is almost always the case in regards to her apprenticeship under the healers. She is fastidious about her supplies.

HISTORY:
The elleth named "Anorgail" by her father was given the mother-name of "Nestaihun" by the time she was old enough to speak her mind. Even as a young elleth, Lhindidhren had always been given to thoughtful contemplation over reckless action. This was a trait Anoruilos, her mother and guide in the wood, came to appreciate. It was a trait her father, Gildinuineryn, came to rely upon, for many were the hours that they would spend together. While her mother taught her the ways of the wild creatures, and how best to leave them undisturbed in their briars and nests, her father taught her how to pass through such obstacles, and how to spy the faintest sign of travel in the underbrush. So it was that both Sindar raised their daughter in the footsteps of the Forodren, the house that both belonged to with pride. Her father could remember the days before Imladris was founded, while her mother was but a child when the first stones were crafted, but both settled within Imladris and helped to maintain its borders and paths. Both remain to this day.

At nearly 1100 years of age, Lhindidhren has grown into the epesse so bequeathed her by the Sinda who would become her husband. Drafnuinfael, called so for his fierce defense against the siege of Eregion, watched the young elleth grow from quiet child to studious maiden, and in the span of those years, knew her to be his love. It was a quiet courting once the the maiden attained the maturity of her years. Over decades, Drafnuinfael wooed the tracker maid, and won her heart. A handful of years passed to find them married in a simple ceremony, and again standing in honor as Lhindidhren swore her oath to the house of her kin: Nos Forodren.
For years passing, Lhindidhren and Drafnuinfael lived within the peaceful borders. It was during this time that Lhindidhren took up the healing arts -- a slow, lengthy process frought with study and laborous learning. It both offset and complimented her warrior husband, who was sometimes sent out with his fellow men on missions of varying demand. But the draw of Middle Earth could only keep the much older warrior sustained for so long. Perhaps it was the warrior path he had chosen, or perhaps it was merely the deepening twilight of the years. As time passed, the lure of the West grew too great for Drafnuinfael to fight. In the last decade of time, he made the choice to leave Middle Earth, and his tearful wife could not -- and would not -- follow. Too much in love with the wood she still wandered, it was all she could do to escort him to the border of Imladris and bid him a farewell filled with all the sorrow and love and laughter of their years.
Their parting was bittersweet, and the lovetokens exchanged sealed a promise wrapped in hope. Lhindidhren knows that she will sail with her people someday, perhaps soon, and there be reunited again. Meanwhile, she has chosen to keep herself busy, to assist her parents where she may, and to continue her own studies in the healing skills. Ilfwen, Gwaerhiril of some skill, has accepted Lhindidhren's request to apprentice. Between the solace of the wood, the company of the falcons she learns to handle, the comfort of her family and the dedication to healing, the time will pass in peaceful contemplation.
