PERSONA:
Given to poetry, more often that not simply content to listen. One would think her a bard yet she has never aspired as such. When asked, she only makes the claim of being a 'student'. She spends her days studying in the library or simply reading, often while strolling about aimlessly. She tends to speak or sing softly to herself.

HISTORY:

Her parents were among those who remained upon the shores of Beleriand. They followed Cirdan and remained in Mithlond until shortly after the fall of the last king. During the last years of their stay in middle earth they chose to have a daughter. They gave to her the sea songs as they walked upon the shore. Together, they listened, listened to that which caused them to remain in middle earth.
When the day of their departure drew nigh her father took Silaire to stand upon a pinnacle of rock overlooking the storm wracked seas. Above roar and crash of wave he spoke to her the lay of the flighting, the exuberance of Osse giving an accompaniment to the strange and frightening tale. All through that day her father spoke and then as darkness fell, he bid her remain and listen, letting the servant of the Ainur of the seas finish the lay.
Three days hence, her mother brought her forth to the same promontory. The sea that day was as calm and still as glass. Her mother then sang to her of the light beyond the west in ancient times. Of a garden whence the Ainur took repose beneath the dual light resplendant. As she sang the sea birds stilled and hearkened. Come evening her mother became silent for some time and then spoke.
"Knowest you, as in all things, you shall find two natures. Forever seek out the middle way. For respite from this world, you shall find it within song. That which thrills and that which stills the heart. Seek thee the songs and make thee the songs for others to hear. But remember this, these songs are never to be called your own, for thy very being is but a song of the greater song."

When her parents departed, the songs of the waters and the call of the sea birds took their place in the girls heart. Silaire remained in Mithlond for another several hundred years, both walking the shores and studying in the library, learning both lore and language. Once mature she began to venture farther afield joining the wanderers, and occasionally visiting the House Of Elrond as well as Annuminas. In her 1500th year her wanderings became less and she spent more time before the hearths in the halls of the elven lords, listening to the lays and tales

At present, she has spent the past few hundred years in Elrond's house, studying, writing, and listening. While she writes, poetry and tale, saga and soft sung lay, she follows a different kenning, considering herself only a student and scholar.
