Some people might know the books quite well, and be very enthusiastic about Elendor, and jump right in. This is good. Sometimes, though, we will find newbies who are carrying around "A branch of Laurelin" (One of the Two Trees of legend) as a staff or claiming to be a lost son of Feanor (the creator of the Silmarils, and much else besides). This sort of DIRECT use of names and things from Tolkien's works is not permitted without consultation with the admins. It has too much potential for disrupting the autheniticity of our world. Characters who have names from the books (like Elrond) were here for a long time playing a "made up" character before they got PERMISSION to become someone named in the books. If you do this without permission, you will only get in trouble. Everyone must begin as a fringe character who is completely unknown in the books. Please be patient and develop your skills in anonymity. Hmmm. We kinda hope you NEED this warning, actually.
