Playing an Elf

If you chose the race of Elf (Quendi) in the character creation process, you have the option to join us here. If you have not read Tolkien's own works, please at least read the volumes History of Imladris and Peoples of Middle Earth from the Imladris Librarian. Even if you do not join us here, you need to think about what it means to be immortal and immune to disease. Being much less bound by the body you happen to inhabit, and possibly thousands of years old, wouldn't you be a little bit larger than life? But, Elves have had some very tragic history, largely caused by getting a little too full of themselves. So, they are also cautious now not to take themselves too seriously. Elves are no longer haughty or condescending towards "lesser" races who happen to be mortal, as they sometimes were in the past. A proper Elf has a strong sense of history and what we mortals might call a very "artsy" view of the world as a whole. It is a great drama in which all have a part to play. (You really, really MUST read Tolkien's works to properly understand. It cannot be easily explained in an essay.)
