Orcs are not created by the One, Iluvatar, but are perversions of the elves by the powerful, evil Vala, Melkor, afterwards known as Morgoth. It is believed that through torture and powerful magics, Morgoth, who was incapable of creating new life on his own, altered captured elves into this race bred for evil with no moral choice whatsoever. After the downfall of Morgoth, Sauron adopted orcs as his tool and they are commonly found today in the evil strongholds of Dol Guldur in Mirkwood, the abandoned mines of Moria and elsewhere in the Misty Mountains, the desolate land of Angmar, and throughout the land of Mordor. Some orcs have been sighted in the area of Isengard recently, although it is not known what has brought them to that area. Orcs hate all other races, and even each other. It is always best to avoid them. Orcs their own langauges of Uruk as well as Westron. Orcs of Mordor can also speak Morbeth, the language of Mordor.
