We recognize that all newbies are eager to have some power over the "world" they inhabit. Everyone wants to control some objects. This is perfectly understandable. Everyone was newbie at some point. We spend a great deal of our time trying to find ways to let as many people as possible participate. But Elendor is a very large MUSH. The database has thousands of objects, and is still growing. The sheer size of the MUSH is both an advantage and a disadvantage. It is great to have so many people connected to the same world, and working to make it interesting. It is full of fascinating places to explore and puzzles to solve. But because it is so big already, we simply cannot give every player some objects. With hundreds of active players players on this MUSH, it would add more than a thousand objects just for each newbie to have "one or two" objects to practice with. Unfortunatly, this is impossible on a MUSH the size of Elendor.
