IC means IN CHARACTER, and OOC means OUT OF CHARACTER. In case you missed this info in the character creation process, Elendor is a THEME MUSH. That means we are dedicated to producing an world based on a particular concept, the world invented by J. R. R. Tolkien in his works; The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, and The Silmarillion. It cannot be perfect, and if it were it would be no fun to RP (Role Play) in, with no room for individual creativity, but it must be close. When you are IC, you are supposed to be acting consistently within the world of Middle Earth this MUSH is designed to simulate, and when you are OOC you can act otherwise (as long as you don't disturb the IC activities of someone else). The advice in other parts of this manual is tagged or to tell you what it is designed to explain. We like to have OOC fun here as well as act IC, but the IC things take primary importance. OOC stuff must not interfere with anything IC.
