Curanolas has arrived.
<Valley> Elrond says, "Anyone by valley is staff for purposes of this meeting,
just to make sure that's clear to everyone :)"
<Valley> Penniavas says, "How do you get to the OOC room?"
<Valley> Curanolas is eating...type +set ooc...home...hall...dh...ooc.
Mallenfaigliel steps in from the IC world.

<Valley> Sidhel says, "What Cura says"
<Valley> Curanolas grins.
<Valley> Penniavas says, "says I can't go that way?"

Gwartad has arrived.
<OOC> Elrond says, "ok, are we missing anyone?"
Curanolas doesn't think so.
Sidhel thinks we're complete
Curanolas grins dish-ward.
Sidhel says, "Great minds think alike, eh?"
Elrond says, "All right. Thanks so much guys for all the great RP you've been
making ... we're really turning this into a great place :)"
Barafinnel looks guilty.
Curanolas woots. :)
Mallenfaigliel :D
Elrond says, "Before we really get going, can someone volunteer to be the
official log taker? We'll want to post the log on the bb"
Curanolas is logging...
Tirloth has the log going.
Curanolas stops logging.
<Imladris> Annunalagos wonders how to get to the ooc room

Elrond says, "great. I'm going to cover some major points and issues, then
Sidhel has a few more to add, then we'll throw things open for discussion and
ideas"

<Imladris> Elrond says, "go to dining hall set ooc, then type ooc"
Sidhel says, "Just a reminder, from past experiences, those logs tend to be too
long to be +mailed. So we might as well put it on the webpage."
Elrond says, "OK, that's fine"
Elrond says, "you're in charge of making that happen then"
Sidhel nods.
Annunalagos steps in from the IC world.
Annunalagos has arrived.
Gwartad notes newbie Lanthiriel is in Amon Thranduil, but would get a shock when
visiting here :)

Elrond says, "Let me stat by talking about what I've been doing since I started
as ruler and why I've been doing it the way I have. I've been at Elendor and at
Imladris since 1994, so I have a lot of experience of what works and what
doesn't. And also of the traps it's easy for a culture to slip into. So I'm
gonna start by talking about a bit of that perspective."

Curanolas notes her connection is doing something weird...hopefully it settles
and is okay...
Barafinnel listens intently to Rhune.

Elrond says, "Let's start with the obvious. A MUSH culture works well precisely
when everybody feels they have a stake in the place, when it is EASY to find RP,
when everyone is willing to RP with everyone else, when new players find
themselves pulled into the center of the life of the place fast. It's obvious,
but it's also really easy for a culture to just not behave l ike that.
Especially if the leadership doesn't set the right example."

Elingail has disconnected.
Elingail has connected.
Elingail has left.
Elingail steps in from the IC world.
Elingail has arrived.
Mallenfaigliel has reconnected.
Mallenfaigliel sorries, got booted.
Mallenfaigliel has partially disconnected.

Elrond says, "So what I've been doing since I became ruler has been focused on
getting loads of RP started, and making it clear that everybody's important,
everyone has a chance to contribute ... and that means, above all else, that
people feel free to RP without worrying too much about things that will kill the
fun."

The swiftly deepening gloom shows that the sun has set behind the clouds.
Curanolas thinks the weather message had perfect timing.
Curanolas errr...not-so-perfect....
Duinlas says, "I think our culture numbers have reflected the success of that."
Curanolas shuts up and listens.

Elrond says, "And that's included all the steps that have gotten you guys
involved in the OOC running of the place. But it's way way super important to
make sure that everyone remembers that the OOC part is there only to make the RP
happen and to make it fun -- and to avoid the kinds of OOC problems and
conflicts that can make people so angry, upset, frustrated that they have no joy
in the place any more. Which is actually a huge risk in this sort of place if it
isn't run right."

Elrond says, "So that's the overall philosophy. There are some specific things
I'm going to mention at this point. First up, is the issue of initiative. What I
want more than anything else is for people to feel free to just start a line of
RP up and not worry too much about "oh, is this ok to do?" ... there's a trust
there, because -- abuses can happen. Have happened. We've had people here trying
to RP insane wicked elves, elves who hate music, elves who like to mutilate
themselves, and all kinds of weird things. I don't think anyone in this room is
a risk of that, but there's always a balance, that people have to know when a
line of RP needs guidance from higher staff, without them looking over their
shoulder worrying that their fun RP is going to have its foundation kicked out
>from under them by someone with higher rank who hasn't even paid attention to
the RP up to that point. I've seen that happen."

Elrond says, "This is your game. It's your fun. You think up RP. You make the
culture your own, and as you do that, and we all have fun together, the place
comes alive."

Elrond says, "We have made a HUGE start in doing that this month, and I'm proud
of you guys :)"
Elingail says, "Thank you for all your work so far Rhune."
Gwartad says, "Hear, hear."
Sidhel cheers :)
Curanolas nods vigorously in greement.
Penniavas whistles.
Tirloth claps.
Annunalagos feels already in less than two weeks he is already part of... this
wonderful place Imladris :)
Curanolas adds an 'a' to that 'greement'
Mallenfaigliel says, "Some of us, as survivors of having it kicked out from
under us, are still working on trusting, and really do appreciate that, Rhune.
Immeasurably."

Elrond says, "So let me talk about some of the things we need to do to make it
even better. One of the basic things is just keeping the friendly, completely
nonpolitical, RP-focused atmosphere that we have. Sooner or later, someone's
going to get upset because they didn't get a job or a role. Sooner or later,
there's going to be a personality conflict. Sooner or later, there's going to be
a newbie who wants to do whatever the heck he/she wants, and won't listen to
staff. Sooner or later there's going to be arguments and disagreements. The more
fun we make this place, the bigger it gets, the more likely that is to happen.
So we have to be prepared to keep this place fun when those things happen."
Elrond says, "Keeping our perspective then is the most important thing. There's
some stuff on +imnews policy, I think it is, that talks about some of the ideas:
avoiding anything personal on the bbs, or other kinds of flaming. In general, if
there's a problem, try to resolve it without anything personal, and bring in LA
staff if necessary. It's not a problem to do that--it's a way to avoid problems,
making sure that small issues we're aware of before they're big issues. But as
long as everyone keeps perspective, we can avoid the thing that really, really,
really destroys a culture -- a division into factions, factions fighting for OOC
power, and people stop trusting each other."

Elrond says, "I don't expect there will be huge problems, as long as we keep
perspective, but I've been around too long not to mention it as something to
think about going forward."
Elrond says, "I know that there are people here who've been wounded by OOC stuff
here or elseMU*. I don't want that to happen ever again here."
Elrond says, "anything from people before I go on?"

Mallenfaigliel applauds wildly :D
Sidhel is quietly listening
Curanolas remembers when you did that for her when she was a newb, Rhune...bad
moment overshadowed by good times...and I'm definitely still here. ^.^ YAY!

Elrond says, "So then. The way this place stays fun is if we keep our focus on
these priorities: 1. Having fun RPing. 2. Making it possible for other people to
have fun RPing. 3. Helping bring new players into the fun. So far we've had no
problems with people feeling jealous or upset about getting or not getting an
OOC role or a perk of some kind. I promise to do my best to choose people for
roles base don their contribution to the RP of the culture and their OOC
willingness to serve the general good of the culture, not on personal
friendships, cliques, that sort of th ing."

Elrond says, "To keep that, one of the responsibilities that falls to all of you
is to take the initiative to start RP, to be open and reach out to other players
to get them into the RP. One of the things that happens very often when a
culture starts to get "set in its ways" is that the older players only play with
each other, and don't reach out to newer players, and then they fall into a set
of cliques. Let's try to keep that from happening here. :)"

Elrond says, "OK, that's the general lecture :)"
Elrond says, "Now, to some specifics."

Elrond says, "Most of you are newbie helpers. I kinda threw you guys into it, so
you may not all have been doing it long enough to totally have the hang of it. A
few general things -- I know Sidhel has some specifics."

Smoke pours from Mt. Doom as the Dark One's evil sorcery lags the game.
The smoke clears as good triumphs and the database saves.
Sidhel nods. "Let's hear the general stuff first."

Elrond says, "first, make sure that you have actually really poked through
+imnews info and the info in HELP and NEWS .... basically, if you're gonna be
able to help players, you need to know more than you probably think you need
to. :)"
Elrond says, "second, make sure that you keep in mind the basic philosophy for
dealing wth new players, which is ... stick with them. Give them personal help.
Get them involved in RP as fast as humanly possible. TLC is the watchword."
Elrond says, "I think most of you understand both things, but it's easy to lose
track when we're busy with our own stuff, our own RP, our own chat with
friends ... over time, cultures tend to settle (if not actively prodded in the
other direction) into a situation in which older players don't want to help
newbies and just point them in the direction of the helpfiles and act as if
that's good enough."
Elrond says, "so that's general stuff about newbie helping."

<Imladris> Nusiriel rolls back in on a full stomach.
<Valley> Sidhel says, "Staff meeting at the OOC room, Nus."
Barafinnel is listening.
Barafinnel had gone afk to shower.
Nusiriel steps in from the IC world.
Nusiriel has arrived.
Sidhel admits it is tempting to do just that, but it doesn't help the culture.
Gwartad says, "Amen to that, Rhune. If any of you still has a problem with any
of that news and help stuff, I can help you find it or explain it :)"
Nusiriel nods as if she knows what's going on.

Elrond says, "OK, so second major heading ... TPs and plot threads. There's a
big difference between a big pre-scripted RP where somebody has figured
everything out in advance, and wants everything to go the way they want it, and
live RP where one thing sparks another and all kinds of unexpected things happen.
There is a place for big TPs -- usually involving stuff that have to be
prearranged and carefully laid out by staff, because they involve stuff that
have to be approved and negotiated with other cultures -- but it's the live
threads of RP that bounce back and forth among a whole group of people, so that
everybody's RP is reacting to everyone's else's, that really makes things live.
Uh, can someone send Nusi the log so far? I'm basically making a speech so far,
Nusi :)"

Duinlas says, "A good speech, though."
Elrond says, "And lemme mention my pet peeve. RP should flow. It should be
action/reaction, not poses so long that take so long to happen that everyone's
multitasking other things, instead of engrossd in the RP and really living it."
Nusiriel thankies kindly.
Barafinnel agrees entirely with Rhune.
Tirloth sends the log.

Elrond says, "Anyhow ... those are the two biggies. There are a whole series of
things we can/could be doing to make more RP happen. Things like prescheduled
times for training, and all kinds of other ideas, but in the end what makes it
fly is the living plot thread and the commitment to RP."

Nusiriel agrees, and distinctly remembers that back when she joined up with the
MUSH, long poses were THE thing.
<Imladris> Estelion says, "+imwaves!"
Penniavas says, "May I say something?"
Curanolas :P
Gwartad toe-scuffs.
Sidhel says, "Sure."
Elrond says, "sure"
<Imladris> Estelion says, "Is there a party in the OOC room?"
<Imladris> Sidhel says, "Staff meet"
Nusiriel says. "No."
Nusiriel coughs, and is only kidding, of course :)
<Imladris> Sidhel says, "Jump in if you like."
<Imladris> Curanolas miauprrrrrrrrrrwavlehuggersnuggles! ^.^
Elingail grins. "I like big poses occasionally, but theres a time and a place
for them."
Duinlas still prefers long poses for a lot of things.
<Imladris> Gwartad says, "Miau :)"
<Imladris> Estelion says, "Oh, nice, thanks. :)"
Nusiriel admits she is guilty of them, too!
<Imladris> Nusiriel sneakattacks the Miau :)

Penniavas says, "A suggestion to those who DO like to pose long and stuff, and
have issues wanting to shorten it: To speed things up, start typing your pose up
the moment someone else poses... keep typing as others pose until it is your
turn (or you want to pose, if there is no pose order)... you can go back easily
and edit it from thereon so that it fits all of what has been done/said, and it
speeds things up."

Barafinnel can go either way, depends on the setting. "Don't give me poses full
of nothing but fluff and description of the light on your hair. I HATE that. ;)"
Gwartad has nice hair!
Curanolas says, "Save it for the novel you're writing...eh?"
Barafinnel hates Gwartad's hair.
Elrond says, "nothing wrong with long poses as long as they don't slow the flow
of RP. Same reason I hate pose orders. Someone's always lagged. Back to my
speech :)"
Duinlas says, "That's what I do, Penny. Most of the time."
Nusiriel nodnods.
Curanolas chuckles Rhune-ward.

Duinlas says, "One thing that pose order DOES do is helps the less experienced
RPers keep up. I imagine it might be intimidating to jump into a random posing
RP when two or three "power RPers" are firing poses every 30 seconds."

Elrond says, "All right ... some of you are RP coordinators for guilds or house
leaders. Some have bigger authority roles ICly, others not. The thing to
remember is that your job no matter where you are in that is basically the same:
pull the newbie into the center of the culture, make fun RP for other people,
keep the plot threads building. And true, Duinlas. But frankly, newbies
shouldn't be in too many big group RPs at the start. It's the small group RPs
that really get a player's character to come to life."

Curanolas says, "Just coaxe them...tell them it's okay, then pause to wait...you
don't need a pose order to do that, Duin."
<Valley> Tirloth says, "For those interested,
http://www.freewebs.com/tirldar/logsofar.txt has a partial, unedited version of
the meeting."
<Valley> Sidhel says, "Awesome. Thanks, Tirl."
Elrond says, "Let's hold discussion of best ways to RP and help newbies ...
though sharing ideas on that will be reall helpful in just a few"
<Valley> Tirloth says, "And... it didn't wrap. Try pasting into Notepad"
Curanolas nodnoddlers.
Barafinnel will work on trying to find things for the Tirith Imladhrim to do, if
Tuil and Tirl don't mind.

Elrond says, "The important thing to realize is that staff as in the ruler and
the LAs aren't the culture. They aren't the only people who can do anything.
They have some extra powers to make things happen, and above all, they're the
people who have the power to intervene if a situation is making things !fun for
other people."

Sidhel says, "There are lots of things for them to do, Finn."
Sidhel says, "No need to dig out further work at the moment :)"

Elrond says, "The culture is what you guys make of it ... as long as the local
admin staff enables you to do it and encourages RP. An LA staff that doesn't RP
is the staff of a culture that's going to have a major dropoff in activity
sooner or later :)"
Elrond says, "All right ... I'm gonna have to eat dinner soon, so I'm handing
the gavel to Sidhel to go over some specific points and then throw open for
general discusision of ways to improve things and get more RP, more newbies
caught, etc. :)"

Gwartad says, "Lead by example :)"
Curanolas smiles.
Elrond waits for Dish now
Curanolas nods.
Duinlas says, "He's probably typing up something long. Battle of the
Speeches. :D"

Sidhel nodnods. Thanks for the great speech so far, Rhune! So, for the more
specific points let's get back to newbiehelping. Rhune mentioned that it is
important not to drop off the new players once they're in here, and that's right.
Nusiriel says, "Oh, absolutely. Making sure that new players feel welcome,
wanted and appreciated is of the utmost importance. Otherwise, it can be
overwhelming. Especially since those of us who have been around for a while and
who tend to be most active are familiar with each other. It can be majorly
awkward for a new member, stepping into the middle of this chaos!

<Imladris> Gwartad says, "15..."
<Imladris> Elrond says, "and three of them haven't bothered come to the
meeting!"
<Imladris> Elrond winks
<Imladris> Nusiriel says, "Maybe they're idle?"
<Imladris> Curanolas says, "or waiting for the second one?"
<Imladris> Elrond says, "Not to worry :)"

Sidhel says, "Culturing a newbie is a process that won't stop after hitting
+imculture. Only if we give the new folks a feeling that we care about them are
they going to stick around. That means also that pointing them +imnews starting
out isn't the end either. Once you see them online, just ask them if they feel
ok, what Nusi said. You don't have to script their histories and the like, but
do offer them help with all that. That's what automatically gives them an
insight into the IC Imladris culture."

Barafinnel nodnods.
Curanolas noddlers.
<Imladris> Barafinnel says, "Fifteen immies! WAHOO!"
Sulriel steps in from the IC world.
Sulriel has arrived.

Elrond says, "Ideally, newbies get so included that they're part of things their
first week ... totally in the thick of it. It's cool when a new player like
Annnun is already hooked in, and we have to bug them to finish the setup :)
*wink*"

<Imladris> Estelion says, "Hey, who stole my +jump command? :D"
<Imladris> Mallenfaigliel sings, "It's rainin' elves, hallelujah, it's rainin'
elves. . . ."
Annunalagos knew it was coming ;)
<Imladris> Tirloth runs for cover.
Elrond says, "hey, Sulriel ... there's a link to the log of the meeting so far,
what is it agina?"
Nusiriel giggles, and snugs aforementioned Annun.
You say, "http://www.freewebs.com/tirldar/logsofar.txt"

Duinlas says, "Make sure you don't make them feel like it's a lot of work,
either. Rhune stressed to get them into RP right away, well it might not hurt if
everyone had a few "generic RPs" that you keep in your head that you can do 1 on
1 if no one else is around (or even in small groups of up to, say, 4) things
like breakfast, wine-ing in the HoF, season specific outdoor activities that
don't involve a lot of theme knowledge, but still can capture the theme of the
books"

You say, "Kind of outdated, I'll update it."

Sidhel says, "Now, the other part of that is, that offering help means you need
to know your way around. Therefore I'd like to ask those who've recently been
made +greeters to check if they feel familiar with Houses, Guilds, notable
persons and so on."
Duinlas says, "All they need is that first approved Desc."

Mallenfaigliel says, "Um, sorta. Getting there, Dish. :)"
<Imladris> Ilfwen waves!
Penniavas says, "Not terribly, but I am learning as well. retaining the lear4ned
things is the trick."
Mallenfaigliel is definitely okee in the notable persons dept, but is working on
the rest.
Nusiriel needs to brush up on her 'who's who' know-how, for sure.
<Imladris> Gwartad says, "16... Ilf :)"
Sidhel used to make a little list with commands and helpfiles when he was new to
the job. It helps :)
<Imladris> Curanolas says, "The Singer's riddle RP is going to be bumped by
about 15 minutes or so...*snugs Ilfy*"
Curanolas nods.
You say, "Log updated"
Estelion has arrived.
<OOC> Estelion +imbows to all the elves.

Sidhel says, "Speaking of logs and websites, Imladris does have an (unofficial)
website: www.elendor.org/imladris"
Curanolas miauprrrrrrrrrrrrrrpounciesnuggles.
Nusiriel cheers!
Curanolas nods Dishward.

Sidhel says, "That's where a lot of background info can be found and sometimes
newbies feel more comfortable with a html surrounding than with text in a client
screen."
Sidhel says, "So you might want to point them at that site as well, just don't
make it sound too official. :)"

Nusiriel says, "Most excellent. That'll be really helpful with the +newbies, for
sure!"
Curanolas nods Dishward..again.
Duinlas says, "Well I must take my leave for now, I'll read the log later.
***DUIN LOG HERE***"
Sidhel says, "For those who remember it, that's basically the old website
reloaded."
Estelion says, "As a former newbie, I can confirm that having the page on the
web where you can find all background stuff and nice little info is very
useful."
Curanolas nods in agreement.
Gwartad grins and waves. "Smart marker, Duin :)"
Duinlas grins
Duinlas has disconnected.
Sulriel says, "May I make a suggestion?"
Estelion says, "And the more you know the place the more you feel it's your
home."
Barafinnel says, "Former newbie!?"
Barafinnel was never a newbie.
Curanolas @bops Finn...we were all newbies once.
Nusiriel teehees.
Sidhel says, "Shoot away, Sulriel"
Barafinnel grins.

Sulriel says, "First off, a newbie +mail would be a really nice thing. Unless
someone, knowing I'd been here before, just forgot... hem... to send it to
me. ;p. Second, sending a welcome to the culture bb not only makes the newbie
feel welcome, but also lets people know -- hey, newbie, might want to help out
the confuzzled one."

Estelion says, "The welcome message on the bb was something that was suggested
quite some time ago, I recall, but for some reason I've never seen that
implemented."
Gwartad agrees! And what's more, I, for one, have not paid enough attention to
the "alt-newbies", believing they would know everything. Having alted myself and
experienced that, made me see how wrong I was.
Curanolas nods in total agreement.
Sulrielnods. Or, you know, you were in a culture 5 years ago and they re-vamp
everything or....

Estelion also still thinks that a "welcome RP", i.e., a short introductory (but
not necessarily so) scene for the newly cultured newbie would be nice.
Sidhel likes the idea of posting a welcome to the BB, but I'm not so sure about
the newbie +mail. This might become an automatic response again like +mail
newbie with instructions, job done.
Estelion agrees with Dish on the +mail thing.

Gwartad says, "Don't do "+mail thing" :)"
Curanolas thinks a +mail newbie welcome to Imladris. if you need help just check
+locals and anyone on there can help you...would be okay.

Sulriel also knows you have... oh, whasssis in the hall where you can find out
about ongoing plots. (this came up last night) But, sometimes, if you take the
time to read from him, you can't go RP because you have to stay in that one
location to find out everything. If there were a BB with RP info, you could go,
read up on the plot, and not miss any of the rp. Or, you are in rp and then find
out this is an actual tp. Well... do you leave mid-scene to go check the
puppet? :)

Curanolas @bops Thing.
Estelion luaghs.
Mallenfaigliel says, "The Shire does the BB posting thing, and I think it works.
But that's me."
Estelion has always agreed to the IC board. Arglin has its charm, but as Sulriel
said it can also be cumbersome, and people tend not to write/read it.
Gwartad says, "We have a system in place, with +imnews and such. That could be
updated more frequently. I also like the BB better, but we need Arglin for the
IC-excuse to know something, sometimes."
Sidhel thinks we were already discussing that on one of the last sessions. The
options were either to make Arglin readable from afar, or to introduce said IC
board, if I remember it correctly.
Sulriel says, "So do Rohan and Bree. Not that I mean get rid of Arglim, but...
also, you can do a +bbscan and find out there's new posts, but you don't know if
anything new is on Arglim"
Curanolas says, "Arglin...I thinkwe should make a point that paging is
okay...that way newbies wont feel bad paging the oldbies who do regularly read
Arglin, etc...it can still be /you've/ talked to him...or you may not know
ICly...its up to you."
Gwartad (points to +imicnews :))
You say, "Something could be added to the motd to notify whenever Arglin is
updated. I know some people also post to the bb when they write."
Curanolas nods.
Sidhel says, "Hmm, there's a point in what Cura says. If you have IC info
available on a a board, especially new players might mix things up and use info
they wouldn't even know from their plot line."
Nusiriel nods. "True that."
Sulriel says, "Same goes true for Arglin, really."
Estelion says, "Well, in my view the IC board would simply replace Arglin as IC
common knowledge."
Annunalagos has a question
Sidhel says, "That's easier to understand though. If you check Arglin while IC,
you learn something new. If you walk past OOCly you don'T."
Sidhel says, "Windy?"

Annunalagos says, "it's a bit off topic, but I'm still confused by the different
threads of IC RP and when and where they are occuring, if that makes sense/"

<Imladris> Curanolas bumps Singer's Riddle RP another 15 minutes or so...
<Imladris> Curanolas says, "Sorry."
<Imladris> Barafinnel feels sleepy.
<Imladris> Curanolas patpats.

Sidhel says, "You mean the different plots that Arglin is announcing?"
Gwartad says, "Sometimes they occur when you are not around, just like in RL. So
things might go on while you are away. And most RPs aren't planned. That's why
Arglin and the BB are important."
Sidhel nods. RP plots tend to happen parallely, and they're not always related.
Curanolas noddlers.

Annunalagos nods, "So the down times can be filled in with non TP rp, and such.
But all major events must be thematically timed. I.E. I couldn't have been IC in
the herb garden yesterday to RP for a half-hour, and all the sudden appear on
the moors

Sidhel says, "That's true."
Curanolas noddlers.
Nusiriel nods, and tends to forget that every now and then.
Curanolas patpats.
Gwartad says, "But there is NO downtime. What happens in RP, happens."
Sidhel says, "Right, every RP happens, just not every RP will affect the next
one."
Curanolas noddlers..again.
Annunalagos nods, "Thanks"

Estelion says, "IC time evolves just as RL time evolves, only 3 times faster."
Annunalagos ooohs, "That's a useful tidbit"
Estelion says, "So if you miss one RL day of RP, the next RP will be ICly 3 days
later."
Sulriel says, "On the other hand...."
Sulriel says, "Remember that when you are in a scene that starts as midday and
is really long... when you get that message that the sun has set, it hasn't
necessarily done so in the scene"

Annunalagos nods
Sidhel nods. That may be confusing in the beginning
Annunalagos just wanted a little clarification
Sulriel says, "Hence my mention. scene time *in the scene itself* moves at the
rate of rp"
Estelion says, "Well folks, bedtime for me. Thanks for the nice meeting, and
have fun with the riddle RP. :)"
Curanolas snugs Miau.
Sidhel says, "Night, Miau :)"
You say, "G'night"
Gwartad waves.
Nusiriel nights!
Estelion poofs. Bye!
Sulriel says, "Ta"
[+SET] Estelion goes Into Character.
[+SET] Estelion gets pulled back into his IC self...
Estelion has left.
<Imladris> Estelion waves out. Night, elves!

[Sidhel(#27059)] Another we'd like to introduce to promote RP is to introduce a
weekly scheduled +training session. Or two of those on the same day but at
different times.
Sidhel says, "Not the most brilliant sentence but you get the point. ;)"

Penniavas likes that idea. I had big issues wiht my previous char as there was
nobody on ever to train. Could be bad timing, could be nobody was simply logged
in.
Curanolas has reconnected.
Curanolas beats her connection.

Sidhel says, "And +training does not always have to be whacking at each other in
sparring, but tactics, strategy and even arms lore or something like it are
themes for training RP"

Nusiriel says, "Absolutely. That's the fun stuff, right there :)"
You say, "Battle RP can sometimes be grounds for a +train, too."
Sidhel says, "There are various websites out there where we +trainers can have a
look at our topics."
Sidhel nods at Tirl.
Gwartad wonders how many people know that you can spar with the CS by adding a .
Still fun :)

Sidhel didn't know that Bare Hands as a second/third weapon offer a defensive
bonus. Until Rhune mentioned that today.
Nusiriel needs to head out out to the observatory. "Night elves! Good luck with
the meeting."
You say, "Ta."
Sidhel says, "Have fun stargazing, Nus :)"
Nusiriel scratches one of those 'outs'.
Gwartad says, "Bye, Nus :)"
Curanolas snugs Nusi.
Penniavas nods in agreement. I had a few +Trains on my alt where all we did was
sit and talk tactics.
Nusiriel will indeed. Thanks, all!
<Imladris> Nusiriel snugs around.
Nusiriel has disconnected.

<OOC> Elrond grins. Let's not delay the RP too much ... what's the link to see
the log so far again, I had to afk to dinner
Tirloth updates it again. One moment

Sidhel says, "So, for further reference, the trainers might want to recommend BH
to those with an IC lack of offensive weapons. Like Green Elves, healers, and
the like."
Elrond says, "and spear is a very good newbie weapon because it has good
defensive bonuses if you don't weight ... and don't let your newbies split their
trainin if at all possible ..."
Tirloth cheers for spear.
Curanolas chuckles.
<OOC> Elrond says, "let's break here, any futher discussion on valley, and let
RP proceed?"
<OOC> Curanolas nods.
[+SET] Elrond goes Into Character.
[+SET] Elrond gets pulled back into his IC self...
Elrond has left.
Gwartad would like to add that everyone makes sure it's on <valley> twice,
before hitting enter :) In general.

Fin. Now, for the Riddle Writing scene.
