Open Meadow - Crossroads
This is a broad meadow, carpeted with grass. A huge oak stands in the
midst of the meadow, a path passing close under its branches. The old
oak looks like a pleasant place to pause and rest. The path itself is
hard packed earth, clear of stones. Off to the north the meadow merges
into fertile fields and pastures, and to there a path branches off from
the east-west way. To the south is the House, and southwest is the
bridge. In the west a stand of birches grow on the slopes before the
cliffs. The greens of summer give way to the flame colours of fall, as
leaves turn brown or gold or orange or red. The meadow around the
ancient oak is covered with leaves of all colours as the tree prepares
for the coming winter. The forests to the north is no longer a mountain
of green, now it is a billowing flame of all colours, and the silver
birches to the west have become golden clouds resting atop silver posts.

[Ilfwen(#7905)] The sun does nothing to drive away the autumn chill
this midafternoon. Wrapped in a cloak, the Feredis Ilfwen is leaning
against the huge oak tree, counting arrows to put into her quiver as
she often does before venturing into the forest. Something is amiss
with Ilfwen, however- she does not wear the usual smile that shows
anticipation of the hunt. Perhaps it is because today, she and those
gathered here with her are chasing after a different sort of prey. She
looks around to see if the others are ready to depart.
Penniavas bounds up, carrying with him a carefully crafted, but simple
staff. He puffs a few times, eyes dancing in excitement and hopefulness
as he moves to Ilfwens' side "I am here and ready !" he announces in
his cheerful voice.
Candamon checks tension on his bow - a light pull, nothing more. He
gives a satisfied nod and slips it into its strap so that it is held
over his shoulder. His hand tug his belt lower, settling it, checking
the knife at his hip. Half a smile plays on his face, teasing upward as
he looks and then calls over to Penniavas. "How is your leg? Have you
been cleared by the healers for treking about the woods?"
Tirloth is here, and her spear too, leaning businesslike and dark
against the scored bark of the oak tree. A map stretches, unrolls, in
her gloved hands.
"Here, right?" the tracker asks Ilfwen, showing her a place on the
wrinkled parchment. "Here were the last tracks we marked."
Annunalagos looks grave himself, for he has a slight notion of the
dangers this hunt will entail. He comes from somewhere behind Ilfwen,
to stand next to her. He puts a gentle hand on her shoulder, to try to
comfort her, saying, "Mellon, I am here to help you. I hope we may be
successful, and know that whatever happens, I will try to protect you."
[Tinwellon(#27059)] From the yard appears one known as Tinwellon, a
cook of Elrond's household. "Well met," he calls out. "What is the prey
of today's hunt? The cooks are eager to serve game again and the tide
of the year is right for it."
[Penniavas(#24815)] "It was a hornet sting, not a squirrels bite! I am
fully healed!" PEnniavas notes, and to show it, he stretches backwards,
proving that, even for an elf, he was incredibly flexible as his hands
touch his heels and he then brings his legs over his head, one at a
time. He pushes his hair into place and looks to the others gathering.
[Ilfwen(#7905)] @emit Ilfwen leans over, peering at the map Tirloth has
offered. After studying it a moment, the golden-haired elleth looks up.
"Right then, everyone," she says, elevating her voice for all to hear
clearly. "Are we ready to depart?" She looks to Tinwellon, adding, "The
game we seek is more sinister than usual...a boar, mellon. But should
we see something worthy of dinner, we will be sure to get it, as well."
A grin, and the huntress looks in the direction of the forest, waiting
for the others to follow suit.
[Falamir(#31143)]
Ragged as ever, if not more so than when he arrived, Falamir crouches
not far from Tirloth. A hunting spear is in his hands, turned about
this way and that. Far from the grim countenances of Tirloth and
Annunalagos, his is one of restrained amusement. He watches the
proceedings, Ilfwen more closely than any other, and at her words he
rises, taking a last moment to adjust his spear.
Candamon's eyebrows lift, and he says to Penniavas, "I see you are. I
trust your ears work as well so that you can follow what the feredis
says to do." He smiles as he nods his head to indicate Ilfwen as she
speaks.
Dinadir walks through the open space his eyes fall upon the large
gathering this captures his attention, with a swift walk he comes close
to the group turning to no one in particular "What happens here?" he
asks but he gets his answer at the words of Ilfwen. A quick nod of his
head is given. "May I join you?" he asks to her. He waits to reach for
his bow until he receives a response but watches as more arrive the
sea-elf nods to each in turn.
"An old boar, to boot. It will need to be tenderized, mellon," adds
Tirloth to Ilfwen's comment. "Now, let us leave."
Tinwellon frowns. "A boar, well, I see. If there are any wild sows, the
kitchen would prefer them, mind you. But deer would also be welcome,"
muses he apprentice cook.
Penniavas nods at Candamon of course, impatiently "Of course I can." he
notes as though it were a silly question. As they begin to move off, he
bounces - almost prancing, coming around to Candamon's other side now
to fall into step.
[Ilfwen(#7905)] "I'll be searching for deer, as well," Ilfwen promises
Tinwellon, a grin dancing across her face- she did not miss Tirloth's
sage advice to the cook. Mallennen, Ilfwen's hunting hound, gives a
forceful bark; he, for one, is eager to leave. "Everyone, come now-
mellon, you are welcome, of course." This last is meant for Dinadir.
Then, "The boar was last seen in the deep woods...If you'll follow me?"
Ilfwen looks back upon the group, then heads toward the forest path.
[Candamon(#12141)] "Come along and help us select!" Candamon grins at
Tinwellon. "More hands will make lighter work." He doesn't wait for an
answer though, as he steps out smartly to follow.
[Tinwellon(#27059)] "Me?" Tinwellon glances at the scout. "Nay, I shall
rather stay at home and make a marinade for the boar. Good luck to you,
mellyn!" He waves to the departing hunters.
Annunalagos looks prepared to go, in silence, for now the real
challenge will begin, Ellon against the wild. He has his bow already
out, and an arrow prepared, ready for a quick, stealthy departure.
"Has it attacked anything since?" queries Tirloth, absently twirling a
long spear in her hand.
[Falamir(#31143)]
Falamir grins at his lately-arrived kinsman, calling out to him, "What
say you, mellon? How long has it been since we have hunted boar in
favour of orcs?" For all that it is not really an amusing topic, his
eyes sparkle with mirth.
[Ilfwen(#7905)] "I do not think it has, mellon," Ilfwen replies to
Tirloth over the sound of Mallennen's barking. "But I do not wish for
any of us, strolling through the forest, to be the next thing it
attacks." As she walks, she glances back at Falamir, having heard his
question. She frowns a little, evidently not amused, then looks ahead
and moves on.
Penniavas continues to dance to one side, obviously eager to run on
ahead, but also sensible enough to not "So we are going after a boar?
An old boar? Would it not be rickety and weak then?" he queries
curiously and loudly.
Dinadir a nod of his head is given to the elleth who spoke to him "I
shall join." with this he reaches to his back and finds his longbow
bringing it into his hands at the ready. The sound of another speaking
to him catches his attention he recognizes him as another from the
havens, a small smile comes to his face. "Oy friend been years." he is
quiet another moment thinking on this point but speaks again "How fare
you?" the soldier makes his ways close to be able to speak with more
quiet.
[Candamon(#12141)] "No, nor deaf," Candamon says. He is not smiling
much either has he moves toward the front of the group.
[Penniavas(#24815)] "Well, why not? Many mortals get feeble when they
are old. Why not this boar?" Penniavas asks curiously, furrowing his
brow. He stops prancing though as he sees the lack of smile on
Candamons' face.
Open Meadow - Valley Path
This broad, open meadow continues off to the west, where it ends in
forests. Toward the north the meadow gives way to the stables and the
horse pastures, while to the south Elrond's House can be seen. Many of
the House's windows face this way, and there is one door with a
comfortable porch. Away to the west a huge old oak stands as a solitary
sentinel against the sky. Beyond it, more forest, a birch wood, closes
in at the foot of the cliffs.
The browns of late fall dominate the meadow, as the grasses and trees
go dormant for the coming winter. Leaves are scattered thickly around
the edge of the meadow, and blow across it, lofted to swirl around by
the breezes.

Crossroads: Valley Path and Forest Path
The path forks here in three directions. This crossroads is underneath
several large trees. To the south you can see a stone wall that runs
around the garden behind the house. Part of the house is visible
through the trees. In the west is a large, open meadow with one huge
oak standing alone. To the north, a path leads up a slope into the
vineyards which stretch out along the south face of a hill. The leaves
of the trees are turning all shades of colours, brown, yellow, orange,
fiery red, as the weather grows cooler. The grapevines to the north are
covered in leaves fading from green to brown, and the ground between
the rows is carpeted with crackly leaves.

Forest Path
Youthful trees spread their slender limbs in anticipation of the mature
grandeur of the deep forest, widely spaced though clustering in greater
profusion in a gradual sweep upwards to where in the distance mighty
trees challenge the sky. A hand other than nature has ordered saplings
into long rows north of the path. They seem to leap from amidst shrubs
and wildflowers as if eager to speak to their ancient brethren. With
the season of Fading, the replanted saplings mature into beautiful
shades of brown and orange, red and yellow. The other plants brown,
beginning to go dormant to wait out the winter.

[Ilfwen(#7905)] Here the forest truly begins. As Ilfwen and the others
move through, still chatting, the Feredis reaches a hand back to motion
for silence. Her emerald eyes are fixed on something large standing
between two young trees- a beautiful stag. Both the huntress and her
hound stop dead, watching. He's a large creature...but should arrows be
wasted on anything but the boar's thick hide?
Annunalagos notices the stag with his keen eyes, and takes sight as it
stops. He fires a shot off at the stag with his bow.
Annunalagos launches an arrow...
Annunalagos's bowshot hits Stag, badly wounding it.
Stag backs up and paws the ground, snorting a challenge. He charges at
Annunalagos with his rack extended.
Stag's attack misses Annunalagos.
Tirloth freezes, watching the animal for one heartbeat -- two -- then
reluctantly sticks her spear into the loam.
Candamon, just a pace behind and to the right of Ilfwen, freezes just
as her hand moves. His look follows hers to the stag, then turns back
to watch her. As much as the hound, he seems to be awaiting a signal...
... and then the shot comes and he turns aside, away from the stag's
charge as he pulls his bow from his back.
Penniavas inhales a little as he sees the stag ahead, eyes admiring.
Then, it seems the hunt is on. He dodges sideways as the stag rushes at
the pack of elves, his staff whipping out sideways instinctively as
he's passed by the animal.
Penniavas attacks Stag with his Staff and moderately wounds it!
Stag lowers his rack and shakes it at you before charging straight at
you.
Stag lightly wounds him!
[Ilfwen(#7905)] "Penniavas!" Ilfwen's sweet voice is rather harsh when
she shouts. She looks to Candamon, says quickly, "Take care of the stag,
will you?" And with that, rushes forward to Penniavas' side, to see
what has happened.
Elsewhere Tirloth might have been the first to throw. Now she merely
stands, one hand pulling the spear from the ground, and strides slowly
towards Penniavas.
Annunalagos looks from each elf, to the stag. He finds he must take the
poor creature down, for his anger at it wounding one of his own is
paramount. He nocks an arrow and shoots!
Annunalagos launches an arrow...
Annunalagos's bowshot hits Stag, lightly wounding it.
Stag backs up and paws the ground, snorting a challenge. He charges at
Annunalagos with his rack extended.
Stag lightly wounds him!
[Combat Function Library(#15)] Annunalagos's bow is knocked out of his
hand!
Penniavas yelps as the stag snages him on a horn and he turns, bolting
now up the nearest tree. He hadn't counted on the stag turning so fast
upon him. Yeah, too much for this little elf! He drops his staff behind
in his hurried retreat to safety. "... OW!"
Candamon already has an arrow nocked as Ilfwen calls to him. He steps
foward two paces as he aims, moving so that his show will catch none of
the party behind, sets his footing, draws and releases the arrow.
Candamon launches an arrow...
Candamon's bowshot hits Penniavas, badly wounding him.
Annunalagos gets knocked down, hard. He is clearly winded, and doesn't
even know where his bow has gotten to. He sits up, not badly wounded
after all. After a bit he gets up. Then he cautiously looks around for
his bow.
Annunalagos searches around and finds some old arrows!
Annunalagos picks up a Bow.
[Penniavas(#24815)] The Arrow bounces off the Stags' antlers near his
skull, knicking the animal slightly... but the arrow's speed carries ti
right into Penny's tree, where a pained cry comes out as it sinks into
the young elfs' arm. He manages not to lose his grip though, but his
eyes are wide.
[Ilfwen(#7905)] Ilfwen looks at Candamon. "What was that?" She shouts
as his arrow flies in Penniavas' direction, barely missing her, as well.
She is relieved to see Tirloth, however, is there to care for Penniavas.
This leaves her free to check on Annunalagos. Rushing to his side, she
asks, "No damage done?" Her eyes are filled with concern, despite the
fact that he is standing. "Be /careful/!" The huntress calls out
irritably to everyone, her gaze flicking back and forth between
Annunalagos and Penniavas.
"Elbereth," snaps Tirloth, as she scrambles up the tree with the speed
of a surprised squirrel. "Penniavas, where are you?"
Candamon's mouth hangs open as he breaths in, hard, eyes watching the
deflection and arrow's flight. Then it snaps closed and, hissing
through his teeth, he yanks another arrow from his quiver and nocks it.
Annunalagos decides to continue the battle with the stag, noticing
Penniavas' plight, but needing to take out the instigator. He fires
another round at the stag.
[Combat(#13388)] Annunalagos wields Bow.
Annunalagos launches an arrow...
Annunalagos's bowshot hits Stag, badly wounding it.
Stag backs up and paws the ground, snorting a challenge. He charges at
Annunalagos with his rack extended.
Stag mildly wounds him!
[Combat Function Library(#15)] Annunalagos's bow is knocked out of his
hand!
[Penniavas(#24815)] Gripping on tightly to the limb, Penniavas merely
holds on there, staring at the arrow "I... I got shot." he states a
little bit startled. He moves the arm, then flinches, eyes beginning to
water as he looks over at Ilfwen, then down to Tirloth as they approach
him. "I... I'm here!"
Annunalagos picks up a Bow.
Annunalagos takes a glancing blow from the stag, but is barely touched
again, although his clothing is ripped. He takes a moment to regather
his wits, and take a deep breath.
[Combat(#13388)] Annunalagos wields Bow.
"Elflings and pointy things," sighs the tracker deeply as she moves to
sit next to him. "Show me," Tirloth says, looking concernedly at
Penniavas.
HEALING: Penniavas has no critical wounds and you'd categorize his
condition as marginal.
Candamon aims, the head of the arrow tracking the stag... but it moves
down the path at Annunalagos. He yanks the bow down, stares, then lifts
it and resights.
[Penniavas(#24815)] THe arrow had fallen out of the wound, and
PEnniavas, biting his lip as he hears the sounds below, holds his limb
out for the other Elf. He glances down again worriedly at that,
watching the STag right below him.
Dinadir moving along quietly as the others look to the stag so does he,
he spots the arrow fly at it seeming to hit, and than the stag charges,
his reflexes are quick but he moves out to the side trying to get a
clear shot. His hand goes behind his back and find the arrow he places
it into the string with much skill. He takes careful aim at the animal
that has just injured an elf near him. Pulling the string back he lets
the arrow fly.
Dinadir launches an arrow...
Dinadir's bowshot hits Stag, badly wounding it.
Stag lowers his rack and shakes it at you before charging straight at
you.
Stag's attack misses Dinadir.
Stag walks west following the Forest Path.
Annunalagos walks west following the Forest Path.
Annunalagos has left.
Candamon walks west following the Forest Path.
Candamon has left.
Ilfwen walks west following the Forest Path.
Ilfwen has left.
Dinadir walks west following the Forest Path.
Dinadir has left.
The stag passes underneath, stirring the loam and brown leaves, and
Tirloth holds her spear ready until it is gone.
"Deer are not known to attack their hunters," muses the tracker out
loud, producing a roll of white linen, "but for now, let us stay here
and watch. They are adept hunters."
Penniavas nods a little bit, looking pale as the bandages. "I didnt
know they could move like that." he admits softly. "Or I would have run
faster after hitting it... " he looks over "Did I do well? I think I
bruised it some... will that make it taste different?"
Stag comes toward you along the Forest Path from the west.
Annunalagos comes toward you along the Forest Path from the west.
Annunalagos has arrived.
Ilfwen comes toward you along the Forest Path from the west.
Ilfwen has arrived.
Dinadir comes toward you along the Forest Path from the west.
Dinadir has arrived.
Annunalagos is hard-pressed to keep up with the stag, but from a
distance, after re-sighting it, he shoots.
Annunalagos launches an arrow...
Annunalagos's bowshot hits Stag, severely wounding it.
Stag rears up on his hind legs, tossing his rack at Annunalagos.
Stag's attack misses Annunalagos.
[Dinadir(#30044)] The soldier of the havens watches as his shot hits
the stag though quickly his reflexes are again tested as it charges
right at him. The sea-elf's battle hardened with a watchful eye and
much concentration he side steps the animal easily enough as he does
this the animal is shot at again though it is a miss the animal charges
and again hits, Dinadir takes another arrow from his quiver and readies
it in the string pulling back and taking aim again, he lets the arrow
fly
Dinadir launches an arrow...
Dinadir's bowshot hits Stag, fatally wounding it.
[Stag(#4732)] The buck is magnificent even in death. He fights it to
the last moment, legs still trying to move him forward even as he falls
on his side. He tries several times to get up, then stops, trembling
for a few minutes, then is still forever.
Candamon comes toward you along the Forest Path from the west.
Candamon has arrived.
"You did very well. But try not to get hurt," says Tirloth quietly,
looking down between the branches. "It has died. Now, let us return."
[Penniavas(#24815)] With a squeak, Penniavas pull his legs up tighter
as the stag charges back now underneat the tree they were in. THen he
gasps, staring as the stag drops with the arrow, open-mouthed. "Oh
dear..." he murmers softly, nodding as he moves back out of the tree
cautiously, the bandage secure around his arm
[Dead Stag(#4732)] Ilfwen begins the long process of stripping off the
hide.
[Dead Stag(#4732)] The hide is put aside to be cured.
Annunalagos leans his back against a tree, tending to his wounds,
although small, they could become worse. He wonders about, "Has anyone
a healer's kit? I am bleeding a bit, and I would have some clean
bandages, if anyone has them."
[Dead Stag(#4732)] Ilfwen cleans the carcass and sets aside the deer
meat.
[Ilfwen(#7905)] Ilfwen smiles, "Well done, mellon!" to Dinadir even as
she is already moving toward the stag's side, starting to dress the
quarry, for they still have other, more important things to attend to.
When the work is partway done, she calls up to Tirloth, "Will you
continue with us, mellon, or do you wish to escort Penniavas back to
the healers?"
"How are you feeling, Penniavas?" asks Tirloth, bracing both hands as a
foothold for the ellon. "I tied his arm, but I am no substitute for a
healer."
Candamon comes along the path fast, then stops as he sees the stag now
lying still. He removes the arrow from the string and slips it back
into the quiver. His find Penniavas and fix on him as he walks across
the path to where he and Tirloth are.
Penniavas climbs down with Tirloth's help, accepting it as he puts a
hand on the hunter's shoulder to settle to the ground. He looks over at
Ilfwen in dismay "Must I? " he asks, not perhaps sure how bad his wound
really was. He looked torn though, half wanting to go back, the other
half wanting to stay with the hunting party.
[Ilfwen(#7905)] The huntress shrugs her shoulders a little. "Stay with
us, if you wish, or go, if you must. You can start making your own
judgements- how does it feel?" Ilfwen asks patiently. She waits for an
answer before encouraging the somewhat wearied party to move deeper
into the forest.
[Candamon(#12141)] "You should go back...." Candamon kneels in front of
Penniavas, face tightly unsmiling, eyes wide. "That was my shaft." He
reaches for, does not touch the bandage. "I am sorry, Penniavas," he
says, dropping his hand. "I will go back with you, if you will have
me."
[Dinadir(#30044)] The Mithlondhrim watches as the stag finally falls
>from it's many wounds, he nods his head holding his bow again at his
side. He walks over towards it and the others. "Is anyones injuries
severe?" he asks looking a bit concerned at the few of those who were
hit in the stags attack. He nods his head. "Thank you, well done to you
as well." he says simply to her compliment. Dinadir waits after this to
see what the judgment of the group will be
[Penniavas(#24815)] "It... It stings..." The young elf stammers a
little, perhaps now focusing on the wound and realizing it DID hurt.
Quite a bit, too! His eyes watered as he looks at Candamon at that,
torn in uncertainity "It was an accident... you hit the buck and he
knocked it at me..." he notes softly, forgiveness evident.
"The boar is a ferocious thing," comments Tirloth, picking up her spear
and moving forward. "Face it, if you will; but I may run out of
bandages soon."
Annunalagos looks at dinadir, wondering if anyone heard him a minute
ago. "Aye, dinadir, I have one nasty scratch, if you have a clean
bandage, but I am alright to continue on, for now, once that is patched
up."
[Ilfwen(#7905)] "I am merely bruised," Ilfwen remarks, looking down at
the now neatly-dressed stag. "And I am eager to get on with the hunt.
Tirloth, Annunalagos, Dinadir...let us go to where the boar was last
seen." She waits for them, smiling down at her hunting dog, who now
paces happily around the stag's body. There he will stay to guard it,
while the group takes on more dangerous work.
Candamon looks up at Ilfwen. "I will help him back." He still does not
smile. "I am sorry, Feredis. I did not see you tell us it was clear to
begin shooting." Something under that apology lies still and hard.
Penniavas shakes his head "If you want to go hunting you should." he
states to CAndamon. "I.. I know the way back." he states, making the
decision for him as he moves over to pick up his staff.
Forest Path -- Through the Deep Woods
Birdsong touches the clear spaces of the forest where the woven path
runs amidst the deepening colours of the coming fall. That clean music
rides the sway of great-limbed trees through mute dells, sudden groves
of oak and yew. The path follows the same track as that of the sun save
where it skirts the bole of a forest giant or should it dip down into a
hollow where a crystalline pool mirrors the dappled sky. It is just
past this point that the path greets another running uphill to the
north before continuing onwards.
Where the paths meet the white snow is torn into piles of dark upturned
earth, frayed roots are exposed to the wind, and the bare, icy branches
of bushes are scattered all about having been ripped from their deep
home.

Boar has arrived.
Ilfwen drops Boar.
[Ilfwen(#7905)] Ilfwen, still at the front of the group, stops dead in
her tracks. She is surprised to find the boar this close, judging by
all the commotion they were making just a little ways back with the
stag. The huntress again slips her bow off her shoulder, eyeing it.
"Careful where you shoot this time, everyone," Ilfwen mutters, "Though
i did not think that needed to be said."
Annunalagos gets closer toward ilfwen, although somewhere to her left a
ways. He eyes the boar for a long minute, thinking of the best strategy
for attack, considering thee animal even more dangerous than the one
that just poked him a good one.
[Ilfwen(#7905)] Since no one else is making a move, Ilfwen decides to
be the first. She takes a deep breath, then aims her bow at what she
deems to be a tender part of the boar.
Ilfwen launches an arrow...
Ilfwen's bowshot hits Boar, moderately wounding it.
[Dinadir(#30044)] Nodding his head to the huntress "Lead the way." he
does take a moment to check his stock of arrows feeling he has enough
for the rest of the hunt he looks back following along through the
woods, his eyes are looking around him for the sign of the boar that
they hunt. The sea-elf halts as he also spots the boar up ahead.
Dinadir pulls an arrow from his quiver, and puts it to his string but
only now fans out to find a good vantage point to fire from.
Boar squeals with rage and attacks, trying to slash Ilfwen with its
tusks.
Boar mildly wounds her!
[Combat Function Library(#15)] Ilfwen's bow is knocked out of her hand!
Annunalagos takes strength from Ilfwen's attack, while even watching
her be attacked back. He is full of fire now, ready to fight again, for
now the one he loves is under fire, and he will not have that!
Annunalagos launches an arrow...
Annunalagos's bowshot hits Boar, moderately wounding it.
Boar lumbers at Annunalagos, raking at Annunalagos with its razor-sharp
tusks.
Boar's attack misses Annunalagos.
[Ilfwen(#7905)] Ilfwen cries out. She is bleeding fairly severely from
one pale forearm. "It's not that deep!" She calls out to the others,
despite this, but draws back a moment to rip off the bottom of her
finely woven tunic, and bind it tightly around her wound with a hard-
won expertise.
Annunalagos looks even angrier now, only thinking with his training,
and fires off another shot, trying to wound it deep. He fires, and
waits.
Annunalagos launches an arrow...
Annunalagos's arrow flies wide, doing no harm.
Boar grunts, hesitating, then suddenly runs at Annunalagos, raking at
Annunalagos's chest with his tusks.
Boar lightly wounds him!
[Combat Function Library(#15)] Annunalagos's bow is knocked out of his
hand!
Annunalagos picks up a Bow.
[Combat(#13388)] Annunalagos wields Bow.
Annunalagos gets tusked. He doesn't look happy as the boar passes by
him.
Dinadir watches as the others make there shots against the boar, the
visitor now pulls the weight onto his longbow string, and taking
careful aim trying to hit the softer areas of the animal he watches as
it is hit twice, but charges and attempts to gore the others, he now
lets the arrow fly at the animal ready for it's retribution.
Dinadir launches an arrow...
Dinadir's bowshot hits Boar, severely wounding it.
Boar grunts, hesitating, then suddenly runs at Dinadir, raking at
Dinadir's chest with his tusks.
Boar's attack misses Dinadir.
Annunalagos continues relentlessly against the boar, as he draws his
bow back to full strength, and then lets loose another shot.
Annunalagos launches an arrow...
Annunalagos's bowshot hits Boar, moderately wounding it.
Boar grunts and charges at Annunalagos while trying to rake Annunalagos
with its tusks.
Boar's attack misses Annunalagos.
Ilfwen searches around and finds some old arrows!
Ilfwen picks up a Longbow.
[Combat(#13388)] Ilfwen wields Longbow.
[Ilfwen(#7905)] Ilfwen decides to try getting in another shot, inspired
by Dinadir's success.
Ilfwen launches an arrow...
Ilfwen's bowshot hits Boar, fatally wounding it.
[Boar(#1401)] The boar paws the earth, staring at his attacker. As he
falls to the ground with a thud, there is almost a look of surprise on
his face.
[Ilfwen(#7905)] Ilfwen's jaw nearly drops. This creature didn't put up
nearly as vicious a fight as the stag had. The huntress jumps up and
down giddily, a rather odd sight, nigh dancing around her fallen quarry.
"Well, one wounded arm and some bruised ribs is not nearly so bad a
price to pay for all our success!" Ilfwen decides, eyes gleaming fierce
with pride.
[Dead Boar(#1401)] Ilfwen begins the long process of stripping off the
hide.
[Dead Boar(#1401)] The hide is put aside to be cured.
[Boar Meat(#1401)] Ilfwen cleans the carcass and sets aside the boar
meat.
Annunalagos goes over to ilfwen, excited now that the danger to the
party is gone. He claps his hands after he puts his bow behind him,
saying quietly, "Aye, Mellon, that was a beautiful sight. Truly, you
are a master of the hunt"
"How ironic," murmurs Tirloth, spear unbloodied in her hand, "that the
hunt should end where the boar once hunted. The cooks shall be
delighted."
[Dinadir(#30044)] His first shot a hit he looks to pull another arrow
but the boar is coming right for him again. He is again glad for many
years as a soldier he is able to dodge this attack as well. He turns
back to see the rapid fire shots and the boar finaly goes down. Dinadir
steps back out towards the others. "Fine shots all around." he says
with a small laugh though he now looks over each and there various
hurts. "Will you both be okay for the trip back?" he asks looking back
the way they came.
Annunalagos looks only a bit troubled, "I have suffered worse. But I do
say I should have the healers check me out."
