Character Histories: The third step in creating your character is writing a clear, thematic "history" to tell others about his or her background. Histories should include such information as your character's age, where he/she was born, who his/her parents are, and any important events that have happened in the character's lifetime (such as joining guilds, accomplishments, friendships, etc.). NEWS THEME HISTORIES and NEWS ARCH are both useful resources, and reading other people's histories with '+history <name>' is always helpful. Histories are set in the same way as personae: &history me=<history text> and @set me/history=visual. It is also essential to have a good grasp on the history of Imladris and of elves in general, most of which is outlined in The Silmarillion. For this reason, we strongly urge you to read both the Lord of the Rings trilogy and The Silmarillion as soon as possible, if you have not done so already.
