IMNEWS POLICY TRAVEL
IC travel policy is as follows: players are free to wander ICly a reasonable distance without prior approval. That is, the nearer regions of Eriador are acceptable places to wander around. Players should be willing to accept the possibility of encountering unkind creatures, however, and they are expected to keep their actions within theme.
Seeking out extracultural RP (dunedain excepted) is frowned upon, as most interraction with other cultures should be in the form of a TP. Furthermore, wandering northwards into Angmar, southwards into Dunland, eastwards beyond the foothills of the Misty Mountains and westwards to Bree is equally unacceptable; such journeying is strongly discouraged without the approval of a proper TP. Players have the right to attempt such travel, if it follows as a consequence of IC and thematic RP they have undertaken, but if they do so without IC consent from Elrond (and as part of a TP OOCly) they do so entirely at their own risk and should be warned that the chances of returning from such a journey is ICly very low.
Please note that all travel IC must abide by travel time restrictions, i.e., one cannot cover more distance on the Elendor grid than would be realistic for an IC party to travel on the terrain they are crossing. For more information on travel time, check out the following files:
