IMNEWS GUILDS SINGERS

The Singers' Guild of Imladris is one of the most "elvish" guilds for new members. Main duties include: writing and presenting poetry and song (see +IMNEWS GUILDS SINGERS2 for coding information) dancing, storytelling and general merry-making. The Guild is headed by the Hirlin; the Hiril Arwen is one of its chief sponsors. This means if you need assistance ICly, you should ask one of them. Occassionally, a Bardic Congress is held at one of the four elf homes (Imladris, Amon Thranduil, Lorien or Mithlond) where the artists from each home compete through song and story. There are many days of feasting and celebration in the true elvish style. Showing well at a Congress is also a good way to earn renown (see +IMNEWS TITLES SINGERS for a list of names for artists in the guild). Most importantly, members of the guild perform in the valley, singing songs in the Hall of Fire to entertain visitors.
