Daniel Thistlewool- Chief of the Constables

Description:
He's tall and lean, for the men in his area, if this area is known to the observer. A man who appears to eat frugally, go on frequent walks, or perhaps a little of both. Or maybe he's one of those who is just born lean. He's currently garbed in a plain white shirt beneath a pine-green vest, both of which drape his nimble but athletic form.
Matching this appearance of frugality is a hardened face beneath small, but intense light-brown eyes; slightly hollowed cheeks created by prominent cheek bones, a button nose, full lips, and a slightly dimpled chin. He's clearly somewhat advanced in years. Grey hairs standing out from his short-cut browns, as only grey hairs do. His face is clean shaven and gaunt. There's a badge on his chest which marks him the chief of the Bree Constables, to those familiar with the badges of the constabulary. He wears brown trousers that hover over simple leather boots. A simple short sword is sheathed at his side.

History:

Daniel Thistlewool is an oddity in the Bree hierarchy. He began his life as any ordinary Thistlewool. The son of one of Bree's best tailors, and a stern but loving mother, he was an only child. His father, naturally, had him set for taking over the tailoring business. But Daniel was lulled to boredom by the monotony of weaving and sewing threads. He was a wiry teenager; one vulnerable to roughing by larger boys, and it wasn't until late in childhood that he was able to fend for himself. This ability to do so, together with his dislike for the less proper folk of Bree, attracted him to the constabulary, where he began as a simple guard.
His keen interest in keeping order and harmony in Bree, whatever the cost, has caused him to rise in the constabulary's ranks. Now in his middle years, he is the Chief. One of the most powerful men in Bree. He views himself as a sort of father and shepherd to the people of Bree now; using his keen intellect and natural sense of fairness, together with a dose of pragmatism, to ensure prosperity and happiness.
